A normal boring day.

The Flash was bright and the creature and the Doctor were thrown back, hitting the wall with force. The Doctor hadnt closed his eyes and felt his head burning with pain as the psycic attack coursed through him and the pain of being slammed into a wall. He slid down the wall and came to a rest at the bottem as the light died down. he laid there, curled up in pain.

"Anya... Are you ok?" he managed.

Anya kept her eyes closed, "yes im fine, can i open my eyes now?" she asked him.

He groaned and his breath hitched in his throat before he replied.

"Yeah. your clear."

Anya opened her eyes and saw him jumping from the ledge and running over to him, "ok, im not taking no for an answer now, you need to go to a hospital." she said seeing his wounds.

The Doctor shook his head.

"There's a box... there..." he manged and tried to get up, his body shaking with exertion.

"a box where?" Anya asked but pushed him down, "no getting up." she ordered

The Doctor laid there, panting almost.

"Big... Blue...box..." his eyes closed for a while. "on the... hill..."

"so you need to get to that box?" Anya asked him.

The Doctor struggled up and nodded as he did so.

"The vercuthan... needs stopping..." The Floor began to move upwards as he spoke, the black creature's now dead body falling off the edge and hitting the floor with a sickening thud, a crack resonating the walls as it's neck broke.

"but you can barely sit up how are you going to stop that alien thing?" Anya questioned

The Doctor groaned but didnt reply. The floor ground to a halt and the old man was standing up, glaring at the Doctor's shaking form.

"How dare you defy me! you think you can defete me? Guards! Kill them!" The old man said.


The Doctor struggled up and pulled out a small grey box, blood making it's way down his face as he sat up, panting heavily.

"Anya. i want you to run. leave me here and Run."

"no way, i told you i wasn't going to do that." she told him.

"Anya you cant help me, just Run" The Doctor's voice grew annoyed and slightly desperate as the guards came closer. The box was held in his hand losely and he looked ready to collapse.

"no im not going to run and leave you here!" Anya told him,

the Doctor Scowled and staggered up, swaying heavily and holding the box out. He spoke in the strange language to the guards who paused before the old man spoke and they started toward them again, quickening their pace.

"Anya, you need to run. I'd survive the explosion. you wouldnt. Trust me! get outside and count to 30 then you can come back." The Doctor still swaying heavily.

Anya sighed, "fine have it your way." she said quickly running outside and starting to count to 30

A bright light came from inside the house before everything was still. Silence fell on the small house and everything looked normal to passerbys.

when Anya finished counting to 30 she ran back to the room the Doctor was in, "Doctor?" she called out.

The room was covered in rubble, the guards scattered all over the place. Bits of rock and plaster were falling from the roof and off the walls. The old man was slumped in his chair, blood trickling out from his silvery hair as dust began to settle. Silence fell over the room. A hand was sticking out from under some rubble in the centre of the room where most of the rubble had fallen, seemingly attracted to that spot.

Anya ran over and moved the rubble to see if it was the Doctor

The Doctor was laid there, unmoving and extreemly pale. his hair was matted with blood and dust and he was hardly breathing.

Anya gasped, "survive the explosion my hind end..." she mumbled, and was thinking of what she could do at this point

The Doctor moved slightly, groaning ever-so-slightly.

"Im... better than... them..." he managed

"not by much by the looks of it." Anya retorted, "now is one of those times a cell phone would come in handy." she mumbled.

The Doctor laid there, gasping.

"Wouldnt... work..." he struggled up and sat there, leaning heavily to the side. "the... TARDIS... i need... the TARDIS..."
